Marquette Professor Who Criticized TA Says He Is Being Fired

The Chronicle of Higher Education
February 5th, 2015

John McAdams, the Marquette University professor at the center of a controversy this past fall after he publicly criticized a graduate teaching assistant’s handling of the topic of gay marriage, wrote in a blog post on Wednesday that the university had started proceedings to fire him.
Mr. McAdams, an associate professor of political science, said his lawyer had received a letter on Friday from Richard C. Holz, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, saying that the university was “commencing as of this date the procedures for revoking your tenure and dismissing you from the faculty.”
