December 8th, 2014

Belmont University’s president was paid more than eight times the average salary for the school’s faculty last year, the largest such gap among the nation’s top universities, according to an analysis by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
President Bob Fisher’s base pay, which was included in a report on the 2012-13 fiscal year, was $819,021, according to the most recent files kept by the Internal Revenue Service. The Chronicle compared those earnings with data from the American Association of University Professors to complete its analysis, which was released Sunday. The analysis included 500 U.S. colleges with the largest endowments.
