Steven G. Salaita, whose rescinded appointment to the faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has sparked an outcry in academe, will speak publicly about the controversy for the first time on Tuesday, according to a news release from the Center for Constitutional Rights, a legal group that is representing him.
Mr. Salaita will visit the campus on Tuesday to speak about his situation, along with other “organized attacks on free speech on campuses and concerns about academic freedom and the First Amendment raised by the incident,” the release says.
